From what I learned my plant is going through an adjustment period or it's been overwatered or from it sitting underneath a vent is what's causing the leaves to turn brownish yellow. Should I trim the leaves which is about all of them or will it turn green again.

Once the foliage turns brown it won't turn green again so you can prune the brown leaves from your plant. The new growth it develops should emerge green and if the growing conditions are right, will remain green for many, many months.
