Loropetalum is considered an evergreen to a semi-evergreen shrub meaning it should retain all or most of its foliage throughout the year. If the weather gets very cold, it can drop all of its leaves but unless it experiences a hard frost which can kill the stems, it should recover and leaf out again for you in the spring. At this point you can only wait and watch. I hope your shrub leafs out this spring.
