Marathon turf can develop brown spots due to drought and due to pet urine. The best approach is to dig out the browned areas, work some compost into the soil and then overseed your lawn. The seeds should sprout in 7-10 days and the areas will green up quickly. Be sure your lawn is getting adequate moisture during the hot summer months and if you have pets (or visiting dogs), flood the area with water immediately after the dog has urinated. Best wishes with your lawn.
