Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Seed Starting FAQ #2:

I had very poor germination of the leek seeds I started indoors. The seeds were left over from last year; could this be the problem?

Answer:

Some seeds store well, while others have a shorter period of viability. Leeks, onion, corn, and parsnip seeds all have relatively short "shelf lives;" that is, even under the best storage conditions, they may remain viable only for a year or two.
