I. Introduction

This week we’ll be discussing plant life cycles. We’ll begin with an overview of plant reproduction and define just what we mean by a life cycle. This will lead us into an exploration of the details of plant reproduction, and we’ll take a close look at the role of flowers in this process. Then we’ll go inside a flower, and see what happens at the cellular level, from pollination to flowering to fruit formation. Finally, we’ll discuss the concept of genetic diversity, then look specifically at genetic diversity in plants.

Let’s begin exploring this marvelous mystery in which life is transmitted from one generation to the next!
