Pretty iris combinations
Posted on Oct 10, 2020 1:28 PM

I freely admit to iris fever. I see a beautiful iris in a catalog , must have it, order it, and find a home for it once it gets here. ( I since some nods of agreement out there). I would like my irises arranged in a beautiful way, but I'm deciding it may be impossible if I keep buying more.
Are there some beautiful combos I should know about? So far, for instance, I have planted
Black iris, Superstition next to a pale blue/ black Iris, Wicked Good . Peach/ violet Backdraft between Sweet Orange Spice and a violet self Eleanor Roosevelt.
I don't know if I should put all my solids together, dividing by color, or divide them by bloom time; an early bed next to mid , next to late, and color combos within each of those. I have also focused on strong scented ones being planted near windows, walkways and benches. It would be lovely to enjoy months of irises since the shorter ones bloom earlier, and I am dreaming of rebloomer ( I have an experimental bed for those). When I get a bonus plant, which is always exciting, I have a meltdown over where to put them. See? HELP!
