Any North Texas gardners on this website? if so we can chat about what survives this summer heat and get ideas from each other. I am in zone 8a and have a raised flower garden I planted 2 years ago. I have been in north Texas for 7 years and from trial and error learned what will and won't survive the heat in summer here. Please respond if you are interested. I love flowers, plants in general and want a yard neighbors can drive by and say WOW nice yard:)
