January 2, 2022 pictures of a new year in our garden
Posted on Jan 2, 2022 3:46 PM

We have had several nice weather days, but it is coming to an end tonight. Snow is on the way, so I got the camera out to catch the progress of the daffodils and hellebores. As you can see, they are well ahead of schedule.

The other daffodils - Tete-A-Tete are just beginning to bloom and the Jetfires are way behind.

The Hellebore are doing fine.

Ahead Of Schedule or is Spring Just Around The Corner?
Posted on Jan 27, 2021 4:58 PM

My Rijnveld's Early Sensation Daffodils started coming up in early December and have continuing to grow ever since. We have a wet snow on the way tonight so I thought I best get a few pictures. I took the pictures today January 27, 2021 and these plants are at least four to six weeks ahead of normal.

These daffodil beds have been very productive for the past two years and I hope these plants can survive the wet snow that is forecast.

I found this plant while walking through the yard today and I'm calling it Native Viburnum. The plant is about 15 feet tall.
