2017s blog and garden was pretty much a bust with being hospitalized so much. It was so bad when Jen's and the kids brought me home we searched for veggies for them to pick and take home and the weeds we as tall as them. We found a good lot of things for them to take home and enjoy. They really don't get to garden much but when they're here they really enjoy helping Grams and Poppie in our efforts. Since they are both vegetarian they really enjoy seeing where their food comes from and picking it them selves.
The one good thing that came out of the garden were the potatoes, they thrived with neglect, but had been well hilled-up before I got sick.
4/15 finished the fence on the roadside of the garden.
Planted Burpee Sugar Daddy and Oregon sugar pod peas at the base of the fence for support.
Planted 5#s of Kennebec potatoes and a mixture of well sprouted leftovers from last year. The old ones looked like some red and gold???
Next I'll drag my carpet strips to establish paths and prep a bed for radishes and onions.
Weeded, fed, watered a bit and need to salt asparagus. about 4/13.
