Dexter0401's blog: Adventures in a Veg Plot - A 21st Century account of the trials and tribulations faced by a gardener trying to grow his own fresh produce in zone 6b

Posted on Apr 27, 2018 7:18 AM

My family and I moved into our home in January of 2017. With two small children in tow my wife and I spent the next few months unpacking, painting and getting comfortable in our new home. Spring then summer quickly approached with no time or money available to spend on buying and building raised beds for a veg plot. At the last minute a hasty decision was made to stick three tomatoes straight in the ground, wrap wire cages around them and call it a garden. The gardening bug inside me was barely satiated, but I took a deep breath and cherished my tomatoes all summer long.

Fast forward to Spring 2018!

My intent with this blog will be to document my progress through the 2018 season. This will be the first time I attempt a spring, summer and fall garden, so I suspect I'll have lots of interesting things to share! If nothing else, I'll be interested in reading about myself. :-)
