So this year I had a vision for my garden lots and lots of hibiscus. I am in north central fl and the cold here can kill hibiscus. Right now I have a total of 12 and three are getting shipped on the way. I have one large one bought from Ace and the rest are seedlings of different sizes. Some are very tiny. I am not even really sure if I will put effort to protect any next winter. I just want hibiscus. I will be posting some pics and giving growth updates on my seedlings. I am growing all my hibiscus in pots. I really hope to have about 40 by the middle of summer.

I have this vision for my garden where I want like 40 hibiscus this year. I am not even sure I will protect them in my zone 9 weather for winter. I am in a wooded area out in the country. All my hibiscus have to be in pots so they are movable. Deer have been a problem a long time ago when I had hibiscus so I shall see if they are still an issue. The list below is what I have and have ordered.
Dracula
Tequila Sunrise
Evangeline
Eye of Kali
Crystal magic - this one is still real tiny, yet has a bloom growing.
Sgt seth Trahan
2 Night Runners
Ever Onward
Lydia- this we I purchased from a hibiscus hybridizer on ebay
Silver Memories
Night Fire
Cocoa Royale
Gator Magic
Voila
Tahitian Spotted Sun
Exotic Red- a large bush I purchased from Ace
Some of these are very tiny seedlings. I will be moving them through pots as they and their root balls grow.

Today I put my hibiscus out in the sun. Right now I am being careful with them because they are small. I did free up two one gallon pots that I can use for my smaller seedlings. I hope to have my five seedlings in one gallon pots in the next ten days.

This is a common hybrid found in the big box stores. I like the dark red of it.

I have a space oddity coming and I just ordered a cranberry muffin hibiscus. I have one gallon pots coming to transfer my seedlings into. I plan on letting my hibiscus get sun today. There are a few blooms that seem like they are taking forever to mature.
