Though not very impressive just yet are these two Aubrieta ' Kitte ' plants i managed to get in a swap along with some other stuff in exchange for a Rose Bush i grew from a cutting,..the Aubrieta is planted in front of Alyssum lobularia maritima ( White ) so it should look good in contrast when both are in bloom.
Helleborus and Daffodils.
We had a very nice day today,.. Temperature went up to 67F,..cleared out the work area of empty flowerpots and trays,..then placed most of the flowerpots with outdoor seedlings coming along into the area,..i have cages i made years ago which i use to protect seedlings from birds and cats,..once again they came into use,..plus giving me more room in my shed
Sowed Pansies,..(early bloomers),.. Biennials,..Tigridia Pavonia,..Aquilegia,..Aubrieta,..Cornflower,..Delphiniums,..Chinese Lantern,..Chilean Glory Flower,..the latter two i had no success with before,..Geraniums which were stored without soil and hanging in the shed over winter look good and were producing green shoots,..now in pots,..knock on wood.
Hollyhocks and Delphiniums coming along very well,..made sure to spray against Slugs.
When pruning at the end of summer i kept some cuttings of the Rose ( Rosa ' Memorie ' )
Two of those cuttings are well rooted,..there are more.
We were having fairly good weather for Spring,..up in the 60's F,..then whoosh it went up to 76F on March 25th at noon,..yes i thought time for an Easter Breakaway,..then along came Storm Katie with winds up to 100 mph with rain of course,..today on arriving home its Hailstones and down to 50F.
Downriver today,..beyond the bridge should be dry meadows.
Flooded Meadows.
Swans and Black Headed Terns in the distance.
Waterhen.
Spent a few days away from the computer,..it was early rising and late evening finishing in the garden,..in order to catch up on lost time due to all the rain we had since last October,..amazing how much can be done in five days,..Summer Seeds Sown,..Autumn and Winter plants organized,..then of course there was the unexpected,..as always!,..discovered that 23 Chrysantheumum Cuttings i took last Autumn had taken root and had to pot all of them as the space they occupied was booked for something else.
23 Chrysanthemum Cuttings in pots..................................................Seedlings just appearing.
