This came up in a shady part of my yard where I used to have flowers many years ago when it was sunnier there. It's been mowed down at least once this year. There are three of them and I mowed around them this time and moved one into a flower bed and I'm wondering if I should move the other two. What do you think? Weed or flower?
I compared it to some mullein that's coming up wild and I don't think it's that.

I agree that it looks like a composite of some kind. Why not wait and see...it looks friendly 🌻

Definitely not mullein.

Rudbeckia hirta is my first thought and zero percent mullein.
R. hirta self sows. I see them here, there and everywhere.
Plant it and they will come.
