Can anyone give me any information about this plant? I've been caring for it without even knowing its name, and now it's about to bloom. Will the sections die after blooming?
I'd like to get it correctly labeled, does it have a scientific and common name?
Any care advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank You!

@MsDoe you have a group of nice looking Guzmania lingulata.
After the flowering spikes fade they should be cut out of the plant. The current flowering plants will slowly die off, but will produce new offsets to flower again within the next 2-5 years.
Your current care routine must be fine as they look great.

Thanks ScotTi, that's very helpful.
Question: do I water the bracts? I've been filling the leafy cups but they've about disappeared with the flowers stalks starting up.
Thank You!

Continue the care you have been giving your Guzmania in light level and watering. Do not stress over the flower bract not holding water. The plant evolved to handle it's needs in holding the water for survival.
