ATP Podcast #103: The Return of the Podcast

By dave
January 19, 2017

It's been a long year full of activity, especially centered around getting the National Gardening Association back on its feet. We're excited for what the new year will begin, and to get the podcast back! Enjoy the first of what will be many podcast episodes this year.

Hi,
This is Karen's husband. When trying to use Stitcher (just installed in FF), we get the following message:

Cannot play back the audio file. Press OK to skip to the next episode, or cancel to stop playback.

This is on everything, not just ATP. Any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks for any help or advice you can give,
Kent

Hi Kent,

I just started up Firefox, went to stitcher.com, clicked on "Get the app" and then clicked on the Desktop icon and then clicked on Listen, then told it to allow me to use it as a guest. Then I searched for All Things Plants and pulled up this episode and it played.

Is that kind of like the steps you took as well? Or are you doing this a completely different way?

I installed it as an extension to FF. I get the same error with IE. I suspect we're missing a codec; not your problem. I'll troubleshoot from this end. Thanks for checking into it.

If you're not stuck on using the extension, you can listen directly on this website. I don't know if you've tried that, but it certainly should work.

OK. It was a bad MP3 codec. Got it fixed and Karen can hear your podcasts now. Thanks for the quick response; sorry to trouble you with an off-topic question.

I'm glad too! I am starting at the beginning and will slowly work my way through all of them. I just listened to #0.1, and enjoyed it so much! I will have to have her book, and maybe one of her plant lover tee shirts!

How do I find #0.1? That sounds very different than the very first Dave and Trish podcast. Is it something related to NGA?
