Hello,
We have two different species of young elderberry trees, spaced less than 50 feet apart. Both elderberry trees are thriving and last year, the lace elderberry did produce many beautiful flowers. The other green leaf elderberry did not produce flowers. But my question is: Why did the lace elderberry not produce any berries--even though it did produce many flowers? Is it possible to correct the problem this year early on? We would like to have elderberries in order to provide food for our feathered bird friends. That's why I bought these elderberry plants in the first place.
