Cheyenne, wyo
Hi I live I cheyenne, wyoming I have a big hole in my flower bed right under my daylilly. I've lived here for 9 years and have always had a great raised flowerbed and have never had this before. What did this and how do I get rid of whatever it is?

Most likely some type of critter.
Gopher, ground squirrel, some type of rat, etc. Could be most anything. I have no idea what animals are native to your area.

There's also the chance that it was done by water...
We've all seen the videos of city streets caving in due to the sink hole created by busted water mains...
Any irrigation lines spring a leak recently?

My first thought was also critters.
At my house the cats bring moles and voles up to the house...

I guess that gophers are an issue out west:

Welcome FlowerGurl43!
How big is big? Can you post a picture? Have you seen any critters around the area?
Any chance you could put a game camera out?
Animals here that like to dig holes include: mice, voles, packrats, chipmunks, rock squirrels, tarantula hawks, yellowjackets, and who-knows-what else. And I live in the city.
It's best to identify what it is before trying to get rid of it, but you might try a live trap to see what turns up.
Here's a link to a bit of information and pictures:
