When I started leaf cuttings (back in November 2022) for a pretty good variety of AV, I was fairly sure 'some' of them might not look like their parents' stats. So...

I was not surprised when some varieties threw out either pink or purple blooms... on separate plants.

But I was a little bit surprised when Lyon's Magic Charms threw out 'both' pink and purple blooms on the 'same' bud stalk (not just the same plant: the same stalk)

And then, I saw this one... This is a single bloom on Lyon's Magic Charms... and half of it is pink and half of it is purple. Confused

Both bizarre and beautiful! Is it continuing to bloom in unpredictable ways?

Yes, of the many varieties and AV plants that I have (over 80 registered varieties, plus two dozen grown from seed... and not counting sports or mutations) Lyon's Magic Charms is one of the two most unpredictable.

In fact, I have taken one bud stem that was producing solely the "half and half" blooms and rooted it to see if I can produce an entire plant that just blooms with half and half flowers. If that works, it likely will be a chimera... reproducible only via offsets / clones... but how cool would that be?

The bud stem has rooted and is just starting to grow tiny leaves, so it will be a while before I get a chance to see any flowers...

I apologize for quoting an old post, but I figured you might be able to help me.

Beautiful blooms in the OP, btw.

I've got these two lil' AV plants that I've been attempting to grow indoors. I've had them quite a long time, but can't for the life of me get them to bloom!

I've tried a little bit of light, a lot of light, adding some bottom heat, a couple common fertilizers, I've tried bringing them outdoors for a period (when the weather is nice here), but no luck.

I'm sorry, I don't know what variety these are, I just know I got them real cheap from a nursery like 3-4 years ago - they got a bit sickly at one point, and I had to cut them back a bit, but they're looking healthier now - but I never ever see bud formation, or a bloom, ever!

Just curious, if you had any help for me, I am still very new to AVs, (despite having these for 3-4 years, haha) I'm usually mainly a peppers and tomatoes guy... Any tips for a beginner like me?

Apologies for directly quoting you, I'm just hoping to find a hint, or a bit of help for this. If anyone else has any help, it'd be appreciated, too!

Here's a pic of the plants in question:
