One of my favourite irises bloomed this year after taking a holiday for a couple of years. Tiger Shark [Maryott 1984] has beautiful veins and colour variation down the length of the falls .
Society Page [Ghio 1999] also bloomed for the first time in a few years. Both of these irises are in a spot where the topsoil seems to have washed away. I purchased Society Page after seeing some dreamy photos like
My mother-in-law has a pretty yellow and white dutch iris that I admire every year. I think it is Apollo.
My second newbie to bloom this year is sdb Thumb Tack [Barry Blyth 2012]. I like the orangey yellow colour of this one.
The colour is similar in the sun, just a little more vibrant
Who's Your Daddy [Barry Blyth 2001] is putting on a show with Neon Blue [Barry Blyth 2003] in the background.
IB Party Boy [Barry Blyth 2012] has been blooming for a couple of weeks now.
The colour varies as the flower ages.
Sun and shade
The next iris I wish to share with you is one that I have thinking about purchasing for a few years but thought it may be too similar to one I already have. Peggy Anne [Sutton 2006] is gorgeous
It is a bit more purple and less red than Silver Streak. The other main difference is the beard colour and Silver Streak may have flounces.
This is Peggy Anne (left) compared to Silver Streak
My first newbie for this season has bloomed . This is sdb Acid Print [Blyth 1991]. It is more vibrant and prettier than the photos of it in iris Wiki

I love it even though the falls didn't uncurl properly.
Strong sunlight
These are my daffodils that bloomed this year.
My 5 Paperwhite Ziva bulbs flowered for 2 months from mid June to mid August. It was nice to have something in bloom in the heart of winter.
Welcome [1 Y-Y Trumpet Long-Cupped] is a very early bloomer. The large flowers contrast nicely with Paperwhite Ziva.
Money Maker [2 Y-Y Large-Cupped] is an early bloomer and one of my favourites. It also has large flowers.
Mirar [2 Y-O Large--Cupped] blooms early even though it is registered from Mid to late.
Roselle [2 W-P Large--Cupped] is my earliest pink.
My last early bloomer is a NoID.
Some early bloomers
My mid season bloomers were:
Bingo [2 Y-YOO Large-Cupped] has a rather small cup even though it is categorized as large.
Ellen [2 W-W Large-Cupped] has a lemon corona when it first opens and matures to ivory.
Another two NoIDs
Paxton [2 W-PRR Large-Cupped] is a newbie this year. It looked more like a 2 W-YYR when it first opened and then the corona became more pink as it matured.
Silk Sonata [2 W-P Large--Cupped] is another newbie this year. It is only 30cm (1 foot) tall.
I have a NoId which I think is Ice King but I have never confirmed it. It was quite lemon when it opened and matured to ivory.
Similary, Amor [3 W-YYO Small-Cupped] opens lemon and matures to white. Amor takes its time to fully open.
This is another NoID which I suspect is Parisienne.
This is most likely Chanterelle.
Professor Einstein [2 W-R Large-Cupped] is another shorty but I love its bright corona.
Some mid season bloomers
My later bloomers were:
Kinglet [7 Y-O Jonquilla] is a small flower. The flowers deteriorated more quickly than my other daffodils.
The next 3 pinks all started blooming on the same day.
Colin's Joy [2 W-GWR Large-Cupped] has a well defined red band on its corona.
Pink Charm [2 W-WWP Large-Cupped] has a lovely green throat.
Red Haven [2 W-R Large-Cupped] is just red and white.
Honey Hush [2 Y-P Large-Cupped] is one of my newbies. It's corona opened lemon and by the next day it had matured to a pastel apricot pink. Over the next few days, the corona became less lemon and more peachy before finally maturing to a light pink. The subtle colours are prettier than what the photos show. As the bloom aged, the corona started fading to a very pale creamy pink. All of these photos are the same bloom.
Another split corona NoID. These were all part of a mixed collection that I purchased a couple of years ago.
Sky Beau [3 W-Y Small-Cupped] is another newbie this year.
Chequita [3 W-YYO Small-Cupped] was my last bloom for the year. I took a photo of it opening and by the next day, the corona had been eaten.
Some late bloomers.
