I can never seem to keep my lantana from dying off soon after putting them in the ground. What is the trick?

Lantana loves heat and generally doesn't put out any new growth until the temperatures reach 80F. You didn't mention where planted your lantana but full sunshine is best and dry soils suit it just right, but it does need to be watered regularly until the roots become established. I'd try planting again. Water completely right after planting and then water twice a week until you see new growth. At that time you can reduce watering to one deep soaking per week. Hope this helps!
