I plan to plant 2 pear trees: one Bartlett and one Kieffer so that they can cross-pollinate each other. However, I am not sure if this will work since they bloom at slightly different times. Please advise.

Bartlett Pear trees are self-pollinating, however a pollinator will help the tree bare better fruit. Keiffer Pears are self-pollinating, as well so having one of each will assure lots of bee activity which is what's necessary for a heavy crop. Enjoy your pears!
