I have an Alice Du Pont Mandevilla in a container in my covered patio. It is about the third one I buy and just as it seems to be thriving, nice dark green foliage and bright pink blooms, it starts getting droopy, the blooms fall off and the leaves turn brown and also fall off. What am I doing wrong??????

Sudden wilting can be caused by weather extremes (from your plant's point of view) or something affecting the tuber beneath the soil, damaged it or caused it to rot. You might dig down carefully and take a look. Sometimes a bacterial or fungal infection can do this. Overwatering, or planting in containers without adequate drainage can cause root rot. I am not sure how your nighttime temperatures have been but if the plant is in an exposed location and nighttime temperatures are under 50 degrees, it may be related to cold exposure. Since I am only able to make guesses from a distance, I would strongly suggest you work with your county extension to try to identify the cause. Once you know that, you can determine how to proceed. I hope it is nothing too serious.
