| I recently bought one of these beautiful shrubs, but it doesn't look too beautiful anymore. It is in sun most of the day, is watered regularly, and the soil has been amended. The problem is it is constantly wilted. What should I do? |
| Royal Cape Plumbago thrives in full sunshine in well-draining soil. I suspect you're watering too frequently. When soil is constantly moist it drives out oxygen, which the roots need to maintain health. Try applying water once each week instead of daily. When you do water, water deeply so the entire root system gets wet. Then allow the soil to dry out slightly before watering again. It isn't unusual for plants to be somewhat stressed after transplanting and wilting is a symptom of stress. Just water on a weekly basis and give your plant a chance to adjust to its new surroundings. It should perk up soon! |
