I have two areas on my property. In one area the pachysandra is substantially overrunning the lawn and needs to be trimmed back. Another area is in sore need of some ground cover. Is it possible to transplant pachysandra from one spot to another? Any hints on how to do this? |
Yes, you can transplant it in clumps similar to transplanting any other perennial plant or in a way somewhat similar to sod, too. Use a sharp spade do dig up manageable clumps complete with roots and replant immediately. Do this in very early spring and prepare the planting area with a generous addition of organic matter. Mulch between the transplanted clumps and plan on keeping them well watered this summer while they become reestablished. The plants will take hold and fill in the area in a year or two. |
