| Lisianthus (also called Eustoma) are biennial or short-lived perennials in your climate. The plants form clumps of gray-green foliage and send up 1 1/2' stems topped with tulip shaped 2"-3" flowers in purplish blue, pink, or white. Plants will bloom all summer if old blooms are regularly cut off. The seeds are dust-like, but if you allow seedheads to form on the last flowers of the season, they may fall to the soil and sprout the following season. Lisianthus is often grown as an annual because it doesn't always perform well two years in a row. |
