How does an aloe vera plant reproduce? I need to repot mine and I need some advice on how to go about it??? It has outgrown its container & I must do it soon!!! |
You can just put the whole thing is a larger pot, or take about half or whatever you want out and put that part in another pot. They are forgiving plants and easy to grow. Just do not overwater. |
They produce small "offsets" at the base of the original plant. If left in place, they will grow and expand the entire plant size. Or, you can gently pull them apart and pot them as separate plants. Aloe vera is a tough plant, so don't worry about hurting it. (They grow almost like weeds in some places and can be pulled apart, left to dry for several weeks, transplanted and they still root.) Tap your plant out of its pot and just separate the parts. Repot them in a well-draining soil. A cactus mix is good, if you can find one. |
Yes it works pulling them a part , I now have 3 smaller ones growing in different Pots , |
