| I recently purchased a schefflera through a mail-order catalog and when it arrived it was a little droopy looking. Now that I repotted it it doesn't seem to want to perk up. Is it gone forever or is there some way that I can get it to grow upwards again? It's in a 6-inch pot, I used potting soil that is supposed to be good for any kind of plant, I'm using plant food stakes and I have it sitting in my kitchen window which gets sun for the early part of the day. | It may be a few weeks before your plant recovers from the stress of travel and repotting, but as long as it keeps its color and shows signs of growth, it will be fine. It may be that the original leaves will not perk up, but that new shoots will grow strong and straight. You can always stake it up if you find its drooping makes you melancholy. I also suggest that you remove the plant food stakes until the plant shows signs of new shoots -- that's when it will most need fertlizer. Best of luck! |
