Privet hedges generally do not need to be fertilized on a regular basis. If the growth is slow or the leaf color pale you can broadcast a slow release general purpose fertilizer beneath your privets. Use a 15-5-10 or similar formulation for broadleaf shrubs in amounts as suggested on the product label. Good luck with your landscape!
