The Christmas Ark
If you're in Montreal this holiday season, don't forget to stop by the Montreal Botanic Gardens. From December 7 through January 9, 2001, the main exhibition greenhouse will feature the Christmas Ark. Noah has stocked his ark with treasures from the plant world, including all the ingredients that go into traditional holiday goodies. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla, cherries, raisins, cranberries, almonds, nuts, mistletoe, poinsettias, pine and fir trees will warm and brighten our cold winter days. For hours of operation, fees, and more information about the Montreal Botanic Garden, call (514) 872-1400.

USDA Gardening Page
We gardeners have known for years that gardening is popular - just look at all the Web sites devoted to the home gardener. Now the USDA is finally getting into the act with its own home gardening Web page, at www.gardening.usda.gov/index.html. This page is a great way to find out about Master Gardener and Cooperative Extension programs in your state. It also is a link to school gardening, therapeutic gardening, and community gardening sites around the country.
