NOFA Organic Gardening Conference
One of the rites of summer for organic farmers and gardeners in New England is the New England Organic Farmers Conference (NOFA) at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. The 26th annual event will be held August 11-13.

This year's conference is called "Feeding the Soil, Feeding the Soul" and features keynote speaker Elliot Coleman, well-know garden author and organic farmer. More than 150 workshops will be held on topics ranging from raising sheep to growing medicinal herbs. Also included are exhibits, music, great food, and lots of socializing.

For more information check out the Web site at http://ma.nofa.org/Conference.html.

Identifying Weeds
Ever wonder whether the plant you're pulling is a weed or a flower? This Web site (www.rce.rutgers.edu/weeds/index.html) from Rutgers University helps you identify each weed in your garden and gives you descriptions, images, and Latin and common names of the culprits. There's one less reason not to weed my garden. If only the site would pull the weeds out for me!
