The Philadelphia Flower Show 2002
This year's Philadelphia Flower Show, March 3 through 10, is all about celebrating the senses through "The Pleasures of the Garden," and as always it promises to be a spectacular show. The show's web site provides all the information anyone could possibly need to attend the show: show times, advance (and free!) ticket information, hotel and travel help, plus of course, details about the show itself including information about the exhibitors, the hundreds of free presentations, and other highlights. Don't miss it!
Perennial Combinations actually explains, step by step, how to duplicate its many pretty photos at home in your own garden. The book's photos are matched to planting diagrams and plant lists organized in scenarios by season, microclimate, or theme. Clear and succinct discussions about how and why particular plants will do well in certain growing conditions will help you decide in a sensible way how and where to try different perennials in your own garden. This is a thoughtful book disguised as a how-to manual. With this book, the goal of an attractive and healthy perennial garden becomes accessible to the novice perennial gardener. At the same time, experienced perennial gardeners will appreciate the skillful combinations and draw inspiration to continue observing and editing their own work. Best of all, the majority of the plants shown in this book grow beautifully in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
