Divine Design: The Garden As Art
From July 1 through August 31, 2001 see the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in a whole new way! In Divine Design: The Garden As Art, framed garden views are highlighted that are actual picture frames mounted to view specific vistas and elements of the garden design. The frames illuminate many distinct stylistic inspirations within BBG, such as the "Italianate" Osborn Garden, the tropical look of the Monocot Border, or the cottage garden style of the Shakespeare Garden. A self-guided interpretive tour explains principles of garden design such as the use of color, composition, form and light. A special garden design tour is available for adults, and special hands-on discovery workshops in design are available for children.
