Dickerson (Timber Press, 1992; $65), will tell you everything you want to know about every old garden rose you can think of, cross-reference it for you in every way imaginable, and take your breath away when you see the full-color reproductions of the antique rose plates. Buy it for a Christmas present, buy it for yourself, buy it for the pictures alone. This book is worth the money.
