Converting Fertilizer Rates from Tons to Teaspoons
This Web site on Converting Fertilizer Rates from Tons to Teaspoons is from the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service. It can help you determine how much fertilizer to dissolve in as little as a pint of water to make your own liquid fertilizer for feeding container plants.

Gaura
Tired of wimpy perennials that look good in March but are toast by summer? Gaura is a sun-loving perennial very much at home in our hot, southern summers. It produces a cloud of 1/2-inch, four-petaled flowers that appear in clumps on the tips of long, upright stems from mid-spring through the first fall frost. Floating above the foliage and waving in the breeze, they look like fluttering butterflies. Gaura is a great cottage garden perennial. It grows to a height of 18 to 36 inches. During droughts it dies back but returns again with the rains. Trim the long flower stems back to the foliage height and they will repeat bloom through the summer.
