Collecting Native Seed
Learn to identify native grasses and flowering plants of the upper South prairies and assist in a restoration effort at the same time. Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest is planning to restore several old fields to native grasslands. Led by Margaret Shea, natural areas director, participants will collect seed on a 10-acre hillside prairie at Gethsemani Monastery on October 27 and November 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is free but limited to 25 participants.
