Garden Art Display
Chapungu Custom and Legend: A Culture in Stone art exhibit at the Missouri Botanic Garden from July 26th through October 7th, 2001 features an outdoor exhibition of 66 monumental stone carvings from the Chapungu Sculpture Park in Zimbabwe. Sculptures are placed throughout the garden grounds on pedestals made of natural tree trunks. This is one of the most important exhibitions of contemporary African sculpture ever presented in this country.
The original sculptures by Chapungu artists are available for purchase throughout the exhibition.
