Full Moon Hike at U.S. National Arboretum
Enjoy a winter landscape gilded by moonlight -- and get some exercise as well! Take a full-moon guided hike through the U.S. National Arboretum grounds on the evenings of December 16, 17, 18, from 7-9 p.m. This four mile long, mildly strenuous hike is a magical trip through moonlit gardens, meadows, and woods. Discover how the striking landscape of the Arboretum changes under the moon and stars of the night sky. Your guide will share points of special interest and seasonal highlights. Ages 16 and up. Cost is $22 and pre-registration is required. The National Arboretum is located in the northeast section of Washington, DC, approximately ten minutes from the Capitol Building. Hardy Plant Society, Mid-Atlantic Group
The Hardy Plant Society was started about 50 years as a conservation effort for hardy herbaceous plants in England. In the United States, the Hardy Plant Society, Mid-Atlantic Group is an independent offshoot based in southeastern Pennsylvania.
