The folks at Clemson University Extension in South Carolina have put together Herbs, a site that discusses different types of herbs and how to grow them in the home garden. It also contains a link to another useful reference on drying herbs.
Southern Herb Growing
A superior reference on growing herbs in the South is Southern Herb Growing, by Madeline Hill and Gwen Barclay (Shearer Publishing, 1989). The authors provide a wealth of information about a multitude of excellent herbs based on years of experience in dealing with our hot, sometimes wet, southern climate. The photos are excellent and include many gorgeous southern herb gardens. This practical book includes some wonderful sections on drying and preserving herbs, herbal crafts and decorating, herbal vinegars and oils, and tried and true recipes. No southern herb gardener should be without this one!
