Favorite or New Plant

Batface Cuphea
Such a sweet plant deserves a place in every garden, in beds and containers. Its long bloom season and funny-faced flowers attract hummingbirds and other pollinators with bright red and purple. Grow Cuphea llavea in part or full sun, water regularly, and enjoy this perennial in your pollinator garden.

Waterproof Digital Soil Thermometer
Seeds of lima beans and pumpkins put into the ground while soil temperatures are cool may fail to sprout or be stunted. Use a soil thermometer to tell you when the soil reaches the proper temperature -- at least 65 degrees for limas, 70 degrees for pumpkins. I use a digital one available from Gempler's that's accurate, has data hold features, and is reasonably priced (http://www.gemplers.com/product/71119/Waterproof-8-Digital-Soil-Thermometer).
