Find the NCRS office in your area, read journal articles, find plant lists, learn about wildlife species, invasive plants, and pests, and just about everything else you need to start restoring a natural landscape.

Clever Gardening Technique

Homemade Watering Tube
For an easy way to make sure containers and pots are watered uniformly throughout the summer and during heat periods, insert a hollow piece of PVC pipe (at least one inch diameter) into the potting mix. Before placing into the soil, drill holes in the side of the pipe every one to two inches and then place the tube vertically into the pot. When you water and apply water-soluble fertilizer, pour the liquid directly into the tube. This allows water and fertilizer to reach plant roots.
