'Cora' and 'Nirvana' Madagascar Periwinkle
Madagascar periwinkle, also called "vinca" in the South, was one of the best options for summer color until a disease called aerial phytophthora blight became widespread, devastating this annual flower and driving it from the most planted list. Breeders have developed two new series, 'Cora' and 'Nirvana', that are resistant to the disease and come in a variety of colors. In addition to the disease resistance, these new plants are heat and drought tolerant, as well as deer resistant!
