Lawn Weeds
In Good Weed Bad Weed (St. Lynns Press, 2011, $16.95) author Nancy Gift shares the who's who and what to do when weeds invade your lawn. She tells how to identify and manage forty-four kinds of common lawn weeds. You'll also discover why she believes some weeds andare too beautiful to kill and deserve a second chance.

Favorite or New Plant

My old fashioned peonies are always dependable. Growing in a south facing garden, they're getting ready to bloom by the end of the month. I recall their cut flowers with their distinctive fragrance gathered in vases ready to go to the cemetery on Memorial Day. Today's choices for peonies seem limitless. Since peonies are long lived perennials, give some thought to their placement in the garden. Find a location that receives full sun and has well-drained soil.
