Clever Gardening Technique

Slip Sledding Away
Neighbor Farmer Mel pulls a plastic yellow sled all year long in his substantial vegetable garden, He hauls small amounts of compost and aged manure from the raspberry patch to the lettuce to the tomatoes to the blueberries. "Sometimes you don't need a whole wheelbarrow full," he explained. "You shovel on just as much as you want. You can tip it sideways along the row." His paths are just wide enough for the sled to slide with ease.
