Fairy Festival
Garden fairies are invited to the San Diego Botanic Garden on Saturday, June 23, from 10 am-1:30 pm for a Fairy Festival. Wear your fairy costume or come just as you are. Create a fairy house, make fairy treasures, leave messages on the wishing bush, or shop in the Fairyland market. Be sure to bring your camera for a picture with the Fairy Queen. The festival is free with garden admission. Small fee for crafts. San Diego Botanic Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas 92024. Clever Gardening Technique
Label Shortcut
For handy labels on fertilizer containers, use masking tape. Stick a strip of the tape onto a container of a concentrated solution such as liquid fertilizer. Write abbreviated instructions on the tape with indelible ink. Rather than having to locate and reread the full-length directions each time, just refer to your simplified version on the tape.
