53rd Annual Epiphyllum Show and Sale
On Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20, from 9am to 4pm, the Epiphyllum Society of America (ESA) will host its 53rd Annual Flower Show and Sale. Treat yourself by viewing these unusual and gorgeous flowers. The show also includes epiphyllum pictures, flower arrangements, plants and related epiphytic plants. Clever Gardening Technique
Protect New Shoots
Use plastic baskets from cherry tomatoes or strawberries to protect newly-sprouted seedlings such as corn, cucumber, melons, and squash from birds. By the time that the seedlings have grown tall enough to reach through the tops of the baskets, they are less succulent and more firmly rooted, making them less tempting to the birds.
