2011 National Wildlife Photo Contest Winners Gallery
For forty-one years the National Wildlife Federation has celebrated the wonders of our natural world through its annual photographic competition. See this year's winning entries at National Wildlife. This year's categories were Connecting People and Nature, Backyard Habitats, Landscapes and Plant Life, Birds, Mammals and Other Wildlife as well as a new category, Baby Animals. Photographers entered the Professional, Amateur or Youth level.

Season's Greenings, U.S. Botanic Garden's Holiday Exhibit
The U.S. Botanic Garden's annual holiday exhibit, Season's Greenings, runs through January 2, 2012. In the Conservatory, enjoy fragrant conifers and other evergreens as wreaths and holiday trees. The Garden Railway Exhibit in the East Gallery features model trains and imaginative buildings created with plant materials. This year's theme is "Who Lives Here?" featuring everything from presidential homes to critter condos. The Conservatory's Garden Court features one of the largest indoor decorated trees in Washington, D.C., surrounded by the display of landmark buildings of our nation's capital, all made from plant materials.
