Favorite or New Plant

Flowering Cyclamen
Cyclamen is an old-fashioned favorite flowering houseplant that likes the cool temperatures of fall and winter. Choose a plant with lots of buds instead of many open flowers. To prolong flowering, give the plant bright, filtered light and temperatures of about 50 to 55 degrees F. at night and 60 to 65 degrees F. during the day. Make sure the plant has good drainage and is kept uniformly moist. These plants do best with some extra humidity, so it's a good idea to place the pot on a pebble tray.

Clever Gardening Technique

Decorate Empty Outdoor Pots
Create a festive display in your empty outdoor containers and pots. Instead of leaving them bare, make an arrangement of evergreen boughs, pine cones, and various prunings of bittersweet, holly, cotoneaster and other vining plants. Natural materials are my favorites, but you can also use artificial greens.
