Clever Gardening Technique

Reuse What's Around
My neighborhood is tops for trash-picking. Two neighbors have discarded folding wooden clothes drying racks. The racks make excellent veggie "trellises." The cucumber vines climbed up, over, and through one frame, making the cukes easy to spot and pick. I just rescued the second rack from the landfill. For asparagus beans next summer? Maybe I'll paint them to be colorful garden accents.

Dancing Garden Mirrors
Judy Roberts and friends on Cape Cod make these delights to sparkle and shine and bring smiles in the garden. (I've hung mine indoors in windows and on a lavender wreath.) They're affordable, treasured whimsical gifts. Each charmingly-wrapped box contains four sets of two paired mirrors. $12 per box. The more mirrors, the merrier. Hang them unevenly on low branches so they won't touch one another. They'll last for years in all but high wind areas. Available at http://www.dancinggardenmirrors.com/
