Spot Aeration
Lawns will be healthier if they are aerated every two to four years to reduce compaction, which encourages oxygen, water, and nutrient movement to the root zone. If your lawn has only a few brown spots caused by soil compaction (rather than dog urine), it is easy to use a foot-press aerator to break up hard soil in those small areas, rather than renting a machine to do the entire lawn.
