Bug Guide
Bug Guide is one of the best sites on the internet for learning about insects and seeing a lot of great photos to aid in identifying them. Although it is hosted by Iowa State Extension, the contents are a collaborative effort of numerous naturalists volunteering their time and resources. Check it out!

Clever Gardening Technique

Onion Storage
Discarded hosiery makes a great storage container for onions. Drop an onion down into the bottom of a leg and then tie a knot above the onion. Then drop in another onion, repeating the process until the leg is full. The "string" of onions can be hung in a cool spot, and onions removed as needed by cutting them off just below a knot! The hosiery allows good air flow and thus reduces decay that can destroy a bunch of onions piled up together.
